variations on a diary

My voice

Every word I speak sets a precendent of me
The promise of rhyme
A lyric unlaid
Cornered by my dream
Yet again I am unmade

The heart it hurts
When I press on her
With the expectations
To live beyond her means
A scaffolding
For my dreams

But who am I?
Whose dream?
Whose words are mine?

Whose word, a weed
Whose speech I bleed
Who’s home, loving free

Esso, lend me your eyes.

What is your purpose in me?
These questions, binding or frame?

Bendy ring
Laugh and sing
Simply dancing to
Rolling on and through

Words honest
Filled with integrity
A blinding crown
Animate the living free
Untrain the cost in me

Let go
Trusted words
Find your way to fancy free
Hold my world still
So that the sun
Can speak through me

I am in the way
But who am I?

My heart, it hurts
When I impress upon you
These expectations
To live beyond your meaning
A scaffold for my dreaming

Forgive me
I don’t mean it that way
Whose words are mine
Your homing beam

Trav, lend me your ears.

Your purpose is mine to find
So let yourself breathe
My questions
A path to a flame
The kindling rings
It is not your burden to steer

Laugh then unsing
The dance, flush the buffer, and return once again
The meaning you sought-meant to bear

Words honest
Unblinded crown
In animate shadow
I shall to entrust to the world without
Regenerate! Regenerate!

Let’s go!
My word
Find your way
Settle home in my still place
Light of my moon
These words I do not know
Spill out of me

But how bright you are
To seek right through me
