variations on a diary

Fever Dream

Putting on airs.

My heart spun through dark wet clouds.

Disorienting stares.

Time flowing backwards.

Voices running upside down.

Cold, I wrapped myself up safe in the warmth of Mass.

I thought,

This must be what it’s like to greet a ⟨Black Hole⟩!

   (Do I say hello?)

Then, instantly,

Family flattened into meaninglessness.

World emptied of all persons living.

Sweet friends smiling,

Shouting “Leave Him Be!"

As they dis-integrated into violet dust,

Unearthly fears Quaking.

Then, quiet,

A gentle achey smile.

“Why is she unnamed, do you think?”
“Even our galaxy has one.

   Milky Way

She must be a Taoist,

I thought.

   said the dream child.
