variations on a diary

切腹

切腹

i was drawn to this page
to pick a fight
with a stranger
who has wielded their word
against another

that is
i have come to this page
to be slain

to say
you
man
you know not what you say

no recognition
my gut quivering
the mirror
awaiting its seppuku

you deny your brother
hands shaking now
as you seek words
to make him see

sharp inhale
what love means to you

you and I

drawing blood
blundering

in love

your word

the dirty truth
speaks to each
their own

feeling nothing different
in my enemy
i look down
my hands have done
nothing
my word has done
nothing

i look up
and my friend stands
smiling
i ought to smile too
and end this
so

draw your blade
strike me down

if you know
you can
